Green Bay Film Festival and the historic Tarlton Theatre are proud to present the 50th anniversary celebration and screening of The Giant Spider Invasion (1975) on the city’s biggest original movie screen with an audience talkback with director and producer Bill Rebane, hosted by Dan Davies!
Directed and produced by Bill Rebane and filmed in the town of Merrill, Wisconsin and its surrounding area, The Giant Spider Invasion (1975) is a legendary independent science fiction action horror film about an invasion of gigantic arachnids who crave human flesh. NASA scientists Dr. Vance (Steve Brodie) and Dr. Jenny Langer (Barbara Hale) try their best to save humanity as a romance blooms between them.
The short film, The Rise of Deermageddon (2024), will be featured prior to the showing of The Giant Spider Invasion (1975).

The Tarlton Theatre offers complimentary parking at the paved lot located immediately to the west of the theatre at 100 South Chestnut Avenue. Parking spaces marked “The Tarlton Theatre” are reserved for theatre guests only. Free parking is also available on South Broadway, South Chestnut Avenue, and Howard Street, but we caution our guests against parking their vehicles overnight.
